Zombieland Inspires Early Halloween Scares in the Southland

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) October 17, 2009 — The new blockbuster movie, Zombieland, continues to be at the center of weird and strange happenings across the nation. This time, it has Los Angeles beauty shoppers running scared.

Said one shopper at The Commons at Calabasas last weekend: “I walked outside, and got so terrified by what I saw I just started screaming. It didn’t help that a person wearing the Zombie makeup came running toward me to see what was wrong.”

“He’s lucky I didn’t taser him!”

A similar sighting at the Malibu Country Mart resulted in Dra Kula, a local clothing retailer from the Romanian countryside, locking his door and calling the police. “I didn’t know what was happening,” Dra Kula told a local news station. “What I saw was so freakish, so scary that I figured I was better safe than sorry. So I locked the front door, and dialed 9-1-1.”

In both cases, local beauty retailer Beauty Collection was to blame. When called for comment, in between fits of screaming laughter, the head of PR said “This is Los Angeles, and we figured our customers would enjoy getting a real Halloween Makeover. We’re offering them at all three of our stores every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Halloween.”

“We had no idea some people would take it so seriously!”

So, if you’re near a Beauty Collection store in the Los Angeles Farmers Market, the Commons at Calabasas, or Malibu Country Mart during the weekends leading up to Halloween and see something a little out of the ordinary, don’t freak out. It’s just makeup.
