[Review] Leila Lou Body Lotion by Rosie Jane

leila [Review] Leila Lou Body Lotion by Rosie Jane

I have been searching for the perfect fragrance for months now, since my favorite perfume was discontinued.  Working at Beauty Collection, I stumble upon new fragrances, lotions, body oils, creams etc. every day, and often get overwhelmed.  Just as I was getting ready to give up, a fan on our Facebook Fan Page began raving on our wall about Leila Lou.  Intrigued, I picked up a travel size of the body lotion to try, before committing to a full bottle of perfume that just might end up in the back of my medicine cabinet.  Here’s what happened…

Review

As a member of the Rosie Jane Cosmetics family, Leila Lou stays true to the values of it’s parent company.  Priding themselves in green production, all of the Leila Lou products are packaged in recycled and recyclable materials.  They encourage you to participate in the cause as well with their exchange program.  For every three empty bottles of Leila Lou returned to the company, they will send you a fourth bottle FREE.

Did you hear me?  FREE.

SCORE!!!!!!

When I first heard that you had to return three, honestly, I wrote it off.  How many times do you have three empty bottles of one product just lying around?  Usually, it takes me months to accumulate that many – but not with Leila Lou. The smell is so intoxicating that in just one month I breezed right through the travel size, finished a full-sized bottle of the Body Lotion and now half way through the Perfume Oil.  Don’t judge me.

The Leila Lou Body Lotion is a nice compliment to the Perfume Oil, with both of them infused with 100% essential oils.  Aside from the essential oils, the Body Lotion is jam packed with naturally hydrating ingredients that leave your skin feeling like silk and smelling like a field of fresh fruit trees and flowers.  One of my favorite things about the Body Lotion is how quickly it is absorbed into your skin.  There is no greasy film left behind to damage your favorite blouse or cause major slippage.  It immerses itself deep into your skin, leaving it feeling naturally smooth.

The scent itself is just right – light enough to be worn daily, while remaining crisp enough to catch anyone’s attention around you.  There is nothing quite like the smell of Leila Lou, it doesn’t even smell like a fragrance, instead it’s what I imagine Springtime would smell like if it was bottled.  You can smell strong notes of tangerine and oranges, but the citrus isn’t overpowering.  You can also catch hints of pear that shine through, ending with the smell of a fresh cut field.

Perfection.

I really have no idea how I’ve gone through so much in so little time, since you hardly ever have to reapply.  Today as a test, I applied the lotion before handling a ton of products with strong fragrances – moisturizer and face wash, toast, dish soap and a few other things.  Even after all of that, four hours later, I can still smell it on my hands.  They are also still buttery soft, and not at all dry.  How did I live without Leila Lou?  I can see now why it’s a favorite of Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Bilson and Sienna Miller.

Purchase Info: Leila Lou by Rosie Jane is available now at BeautyCollection.com and all Beauty Collection locations.  Included in the line is the Body Lotion, Perfume Oil and a decadent Soy Wax Candle.

Sex, Chocolate…or Cosmetics?

smash Sex, Chocolate...or Cosmetics?

Recently, a study was conducted in the United States surrounding the common weaknesses of a woman – sex, chocolate and beauty products.  With over 1300 women surveyed, you may be surprised at the results.

  • Women were more willing to give up their coveted luxuries for more than a week; such as sex, dessert and coffee, than to part with their favorite beauty product.
  • Women were also more likely to give up their favorite designer shoes and jeans than to let airline security confiscate their favorite cosmetics and skincare products.

“Women not only want beauty products that make them feel radiant inside and out, but products that are customized for their skin and lifestyle. It’s no surprise they would rather go without a few of life’s other simple pleasures. Once you find a product you love, that’s affordable and works, you never want to let it go,” said John Krites, L’Bel USA’s beauty expert.
