SpaLiday Gift Set 300x300 Bliss Spa liday Set: Supreme Happiness for $29

Bliss Spa-Liday Gift Set - Lemon Sage

Still need to get a few more gifts? You will want to pick this one up! The set comes with a FULL size of the Lemon +Sage Soapy Suds and Full size body butter PLUS and a shower pouf. The smell is like fresh squeezed lemons, it is so uplifting in the mornings( it’s like hello, I’m awake!) It’s citrus without being too citrus( you know, when you make “that face” because it’s too sour) It smells so uplifting it perks me right up and brightens up my mood. Plus, this set is also paraben free( if you were wondering). I am not one for super strong scented products but this one really hit the mark, with just enough scent to make it yummy!

Bliss Lemon Sage Soapy Suds 225x300 Bliss Spa liday Set: Supreme Happiness for $29
Bliss Lemon + Sage Soap Suds

The wash is nice and soapy, you can also double it as a bubble bath. Now, it will not be as bubbly as other bubble baths but the smell alone with help you relax and bring your spirits right up. I like it because you feel clean without it stripping all the moisture from your skin but it also won’t leave a “film” on your skin either( perfect mix for a wash I say) Put a little on your shower pouf or bath and enjoy.

Bliss Lemon Sage Body Butter 300x300 Bliss Spa liday Set: Supreme Happiness for $29

Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter

The body butter is just that, butter! Not in a jar? I know, but trust me it is so thick and creamy that you wouldn’t know it wasn’t in a jar. The butter smells just as delicious as the soap and it is super moisturizing without being greasy. Use it at night, and your skin will be so smooth in the morning. Use it in the morning, and you will feel fresh all day. The smell is very light, it is not at all overwhelming. All in all, an amazing lemon scented butter with wonderful moisturizing benefits.

The Bliss Spa-liday set is not only a really good value ($50 value not including the shower pouf) but a really nice gift for someone in need of some pampering. The smell will relax and energize you and the products will help your skin stay hydrated through the winter. Now, the question is, to buy one as a gift or for myself( maybe a gift for myself? Hmmmm… decisions decisions!) How will you decide?

[Review] Beauties Welcome Olivina to Beauty Collection!

Need a Christmas gift for the beauty product, nature loving nut in your life? Olivina has a gift for you, and Beauty Collection now carries it!

89522A5D [Review] Beauties Welcome Olivina to Beauty Collection!

Olivina has an old world philosophy when it comes to their products. The company only uses Earth friendly natural ingredients. That means no parabens and sulfates. For animal lovers like me, Olivina believes in no animal testing, whatsoever. Also, to be eco savvy, Olivina packaging is always recyclable.  My favorite part about this brand is that  it not only has the greatest ingredients that work wonders but they also test and MAKE  their products in California! (The company is based in Napa Valley) How many companies do that this day in age?

The company has five signature fragrances that they make in many products like, Bubble Bath, Lip Butter, Foaming Grapeseed Scrub, Hand and Body Lotion, etc. These products come in Fig (my favorite!), Classic Olive, Honeysuckle Rose, Meyer Lemon, and Lavender-Bitter Orange.

The packaging on these beauty products are almost as lovely as the products themselves. Everything is in a deep green container with a lighter green olive tree shimmering behind the company name.

Olivina’s  Hand & Body Wash in Meyer Lemon - $19.50

I am so tired of hand soaps that make my skin feel dryer than before I washed them. No matter what I previously tried, I’d dry my hands only to feel like my

skin was being pulled tighter.

When I pulled this out of the box I immediately fell in love with the packaging. After I popped the top off and took a large sniff I fell into soapy bliss. The soap contains Olive Fruit Extract, Sea Kelp, and Aloe Vera; making this the most conditioning soap you can find.  The scent is a perfect mixture of  Honeysuckle and Lemon, which gives it an organic old timey smell. When I received it I ran to my bathroom to use it and sadly, I am now an addict. Every time I walk into the bathroom (regardless of the reason), I have to take a few minutes to wash my hands. It’s so foamy and soft, almost silky. Surprisingly enough, my hands are in a better condition than a few weeks ago, and I am finally impressed by a hand soap. It’s the perfect  bottle to sit at your kitchen sink or your bathroom.

Olivina’s Hand Cream in Fig-$8.00

Let me start off this review by saying that I was very scared of this hand cream because of the scent. I can’t say I sniffed a fig and remembered what I thought about it. So taking the lid off I was sure what to expect.

This lotion smells like fall to me. I felt like I was outside in a forest during Fall, lying in a bed of multicolored leaves. This scent is warm, comfortable, and strangely strong for a lotion; I keep sniffing my hands throughout the day. It’s a smell I wouldn’t mind wearing in a perfume. I also work in a shoe store. Anyone who works with cardboard boxes all day knows how much they dry out your hands. My hands have major rough spots, I have dry cracked cuticles and my skin peels in places. I have never been able to find a hand lotion that is strong enough to moisturize and light enough to not leave a greasy after feel. Luckily this cream came into my life because my hands will never be the same. My hands are soft, and I don’t have a single split cuticle. The travel size lotion is perfect for toting around in the purse so you can replenish the moisture this winter weather has taken away.

Olivina’s Lip Butter $13.00

If you are like me then your lips take a beating during the winter months. I have constant chapped lips because of the harsh wind.

This lip butter is jam packed with natural oils, such as  grape seed and olive oil and vitamin E, that will keep your lips soft and conditioned. It’s very lightweight for how much it moisturizes and isn’t overly thick and sticky like other lip glosses. The scent is very light and smells like a mixture of olive oil and a woody citrus. There really is  no taste and it stays on your lips for hours. I was really impressed and now it sits in my pocket while I work so I can slap some on whenever my lips feel dry.

IMAG0292 300x197 [Review] Beauties Welcome Olivina to Beauty Collection!

All and all I’m very impressed with the products Olivina has to offer. Everything is rich and drenched in Olive oil, along with many other moisturizing oils that will help keep your skin soft and supple during these cold months. Great for anyone on your Christmas list.

  • A fun and engaged community of bloggers you enjoy meeting, and working with
  • VIP access to brands and events
  • A constant stream of quality products to review – all in your area of passion/ interest

We’re also establishing a select team of Curators

  • Inclusion in the Beauty Collection employee discount program (30% off all purchases)
  • Periodic inclusion in the COLLECTOR monthly print newsletter
  • Other special (and fabulous!) opportunities that are still TBD

For those who are available, we’ll be meeting to discuss the program next Wednesday (Nov 2, 2011)
We’re going to be holding a meeting next Wednesday night at 7PM in the West Hollywood store to meet you, introduce the Associate Editor (if she’s available!), discuss our plans, and get feedback.

Combining science, beauty and a passion for caring for sensitive skin, Avene has become the leading expert in natural solutions for stubborn skin issues. Avene Eau Thermale1 850x1024 Review: Avene Thermal Spring Water

REVIEW

My 4 year old son has terrible keratosis pilaris [KP].  If you aren’t familiar with KP, it’s an inherited skin condition, where extra keratin accumulates in the hair follicles.  The result?  Unsightly bumps on your limbs and sometimes your face.  While my son isn’t vain quite yet, the bumps do bother him – he’s constantly talking about them and picking them, leaving tiny scars on his limbs.

I had heard so many amazing things about Avene’s Thermal Spring Water, that I just had to try it.  While my son hates the ‘special lotion’ and creams that we use, I hoped that he would be excited about a spray – after all, what kid doesn’t like a spray bottle aka water gun?

The spray comes out more like a mist, just like the water misters you find at amusement parks during the summer – light and airy.  A lot of people have asked if the water is okay to use on your face – the answer yes.  The water is just like natural water, you can spray it anywhere with zero irritation.  I spray it right in my son’s face to address the bumps he’s developed on his cheeks.  The main thing that I have noticed is the ‘texture’ of the water.  It’s definitely lighter than ‘regular water’ and leaves a bit of sheen when applied.  After it dries, it leaves your skin uber soft, and refreshed.  During these hot months, I keep a can in my fridge for a quick refresher.  Here are some ways that I have used it thus far:

  • Addressing my son’s KP, eczema and dry skin
  • To set my makeup
  • As a quick refresher after being outside in the heat
  • Soothe bug bites

The result?

After using the Avene Thermal Spray on my son for 3 weeks, I am proud to say that his bumps are down to about 10%.  He only has a couple on one arm, none on his face, and 2-3 on his legs.  I cannot stress enough how this has changed his life.  Not only has it made the unsightly bumps go away, but it has avoided any scarring, that may bother him as he gets older.  All in all, it has changed our lives.  Thank you Avene.

[Review] Suki – Complete Care for Calm Skin

[REVIEW]

I have always been the “soap and water” type girl. I never had problems with breakouts when I was younger. Now that I am nearing 30, my skin is telling me something different. I didn’t have a beauty regimen before, and I always thought that if I began putting unknown chemicals on my face that I would start breaking out. Little did I know that I should have introduced a beauty regimen into my life a long time ago. These days, my face is super dry and I tend to get a lot of dry white discoloration spots on the right side of my face. I guess using Lubriderm just wasn’t enough for my skin – LOL!  After hearing about how great the  Suki products were, I had to try them out and see for myself.

I didn’t know what to expect from using the Suki products. Will this stuff really even out my skin? Will my dry spots go away? Will it leave a funky smelling residue on my face? I just couldn’t wait to try it out, especially with summer being here I needed my skin to be fresh and radiant. I couldn’t decide what products to get, so I just started out with the Complete Care for Calm Skin - I figured a kit would be my best bet to start out on a new regimen.

Suki Exfoliater 179x300 [Review] Suki Complete Care for Calm Skin

The first thing I noticed about the Complete Care for Calm Skin was the packaging. Not only did it come in this cute little box, but it was packed with information. Before I did anything, I had to smell every product! I’m the type of person that gets nauseas if the scents are too overpowering. I proceeded to start my beauty regimen with the exfoliate foaming cleanser, and to my suprise, I only needed about a dime sized amount. This will last me for weeks!  Next was the toner, (a spray or two was all I needed), but with its fresh and clean smell, I wanted to be doused in toner from head to toe! Then, onto the day lotion and of course one or two squirts were all I needed during the day. Lastly, that evening I applied the night time moisturizer and with its amazing scent I believe it even helped me fall asleep!

After the first use, I really started to notice a difference. I was amazed that how instantly my face felt more moisturized and glowing. It felt really good to have my skin feeling silky smooth with natural ingredients. I cannot stress enough how great my face feels! My confidence has even bumped up a little bit about going outside au natural. It just feels really great to have nice, smooth moisturized skin for the first time in a very long time.

What I love most about the Suki Complete Care for Calm Skin kit was that it had everything I needed to start out a new routine with. I didn’t have to fuss over what to use first because it had very easy instructions to go along with the products. It’s also great to know that Suki prides itself with using natural and organic ingredients. I also loved that everything smelled so lovely, and it wasn’t overpowering at all. Overall, I really loved this kit. It reduced the impurities, exfoliated the dead skin, and moisturized my skin all at the same time. What else could a girl ask for?
