[Review] SweetSpot Labs

SweetSpot Labs was developed out of need. Owner Shari Creed noticed a large void in the beauty industry, and took it upon herself to answer that most were too embarrassed to ask – “Why would any woman cleanse any part of her body with a product that was not designed for that body part?” I mean, would you wash your hair with toothpaste? I think not.

From there, Shari began interviewing women of all ages, spending months formulating the perfect mix of aromatics using beneficial oils. The end result of her hard work and dedication was a luxurious line of feminine hygiene products for the modern woman.

To be honest with you, I have never given much thought to what I use to clean my lady parts. However, once I started researching SweetSpot Labs, I really stared to question my routine. And by “routine” I mean cleaning Lady Town with whatever soap I use to clean my body with. I started to understand what should be common knowledge amongst women…that regular soap is way too harsh to use down there. WHY DON’T WE KNOW THIS?!?! I am feeling cheated by my high school health class.

Lucky for me I have been given the chance to try out SweetSpot Labs Gentle Wash.

I want to start out by talking about the fragrance. My bottle contained fragrance No. 11, Citrus Galbanum. For those of you not familiar with Galbanum, let me drop some knowledge on you. Galbanum is a gum resin that can be found in a plant that primarily grows on mountain slopes in Iran and Turkey. The resin is used frequently in perfumes and loved for it’s intense, lush green scent. The Galbanum mixed with Citrus smells AMAZING. An Outkast song keeps popping in my head. You know it. “So fresh and so clean”.

The Gentle Wash is pH balanced, using mild cleansers with lathering agents derived from vegetables. The texture was just perfect, rinsing easily, and since it is made to condition, nourish and soothe I didn’t feel stripped over over cleansed in any way.

Take my advice and pamper your vagina.  Start your day the SweetSpot way!

When I was given the chance to test a “feminine product”, immediately what came to mind was a kotex commercial that sums up my exact thoughts on those kinds of things. You know, “I’m one with mother earth”, “or a woman walking through a field of daisies”, or any of that over the top nonsense that I can only laugh at.

The product that I tested out was the SweetSpot Labs Balancing Mist, a spray that balances the pH, nourishes the skin, conditions hair, and keeps me feeling oh-so-fresh. Wait-what’s that spell to me? Instant freshness!

I could totally use this after a cardio class.

I also liked the fact that it had moisturizing agents in it like, Sodium PCA (which works as a skin conditioner and humectant) and Aloe Vera Juice which is moisturizing for the skin… so I was giving my exposed skin a treat.

Like many of you, I work, I have errands, a house to clean, and sometimes I’m literally running to my cardio class on those busy days. There are times when I have more errands to run after class, but have a wash of paranoia over me when I realize I’m sweaty. What if people can smell me when I’m at the store.  Embarrassing!  Well, for the last two weeks I’ve kept this bottle in my gym bag and made sure to give it the test. Would it help? Could this really be the end of me wearing a zipped up jacket over my gym clothes when I venture out after a class?

I have to say….it did make me feel a bit more confident about going to the grocery store, gym clothes and all. The mist I tried was Geranium Lavender, a really light scent, which I liked. I spritzed myself from head to toe, cranked the A/C in the car and went onto my next destination. Did anyone say anything to me? Did I get any looks at the store? Nope, I remained incognito–just how I had hoped. Now that I know I can rely on this for a quick refresher anytime and anywhere, I’d like to see just how well it actually works after a waxing session…afterall, if anything needs a soothing spray, its going to be my lady bits (did I just say that?) after my next appointment.

MO’S REVIEW

Personally, I have never tried feminine hygiene products before. Honestly, I’ve never had a need to in the past, so when given the opportunity to try and review the Sweet Spot On-The-Go Wipettes I was very curious to see if I would notice a difference with adding these wipettes to my daily routine.

I tried the assorted pack of wipes including Unscented, Citrus Galbanum, Geranium Lavender and Basil Grapefruit. As an Aromatherapist, I found each one of these scents very unique and intriguing. Even though I have never experienced a problem with feminine odor in the past, it’s not like every woman smells like a fresh bouquet of roses “down there”. I found these wipettes to be extremely soft and refreshing. I would use these whenever I was feeling drab needed a little pick me up.

My favorite scent of the bunch was the Citrus Galbanum. The essential oils in this blend have amazing energizing and refreshing properties. Not to get too personal…but I even felt like using this before my date night with the hubby…it gave me confidence and helped me to feel a little more sexy ;]
